Cowboys Tight End Shares Encouraging Dak Prescott News

Last year, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott spent much of his offseason rehabbing from a gruesome broken ankle suffered in October 2020.

As a result, he did not have as many opportunities to work out with his receivers as he could have. There’s no need to worry about that this time around though.

Prescott is fully healthy and has had “ample opportunities” to conduct workouts with teammates, according to tight end Dalton Schultz. All of these reps have made an impact, Schultz told reporters.

“We’re definitely ahead of where we were last year,” he said, via ESPN’s Todd Archer.

Through the first six games of the 2021 season, Prescott looked like a potential MVP candidate. He showed no ill effects of his ankle injury and threw for 16 touchdowns and only four interceptions while leading Dallas to a 5-1 record.

However, a calf strain suffered in the sixth game of the year knocked Prescott out of the lineup for one week and appeared to limit his effectiveness for a few games after he returned. The two-time Pro Bowler eventually regained his earlier form in the season’s final three contests, throwing for 851 yards, 12 touchdowns and no picks in wins over Washington and Philadelphia and a loss to Arizona.

Unfortunately, Prescott was only so-so in the Cowboys’ wild card playoff loss to San Francisco. Should Dallas return to the playoffs in 2022, the seventh-year veteran will not be looking for a repeat performance.
