Ex-Cowboys Star Reveals If He’d Consider Ending Retirement

Former Dallas Cowboys center Travis Frederick retired following the 2019 season. After two years away, it doesn’t sound like he’s thinking of returning.

Frederick and current Dallas offensive lineman Tyler Biadasz, who are both Wisconsin alums, held a fundraiser last night to help fight childhood hunger. At the event, Cowboys beat writer Michael Gehlken asked the five-time Pro Bowler if he would consider coming back.

Frederick made it clear that he has no intention of playing football again.

“I’m really at peace with where I am. I’m really excited to be at home with the family,” he told Gehlken.

A first-round pick in 2013, Frederick became an immediate starter in Dallas. He earned second-team All-Pro honors in his second and third seasons and first-team All-Pro in his fourth.

After being diagnosed with Guillain–Barré syndrome in August 2018, Frederick missed the entire 2018 season. However, he returned to start all 16 games and make the Pro Bowl the following year.

While some Dallas fans probably wish he’d come back, it is good to hear that Frederick is healthy and content in his retirement.
