Kenichi Horie Arrives in San Francisco to Put together for Departure

In November we wrote that the famed Japanese singlehander Kenichi Horie, now 83, was planning to go away San Francisco in March to sail again to Japan. It’s already March, and Kenichi and his boat are right here and on the brink of go.

Kenichi’s 18-ft boat, Suntory Mermaid III, was lately launched at KKMI in Sausalito and is now being readied to depart San Francisco on the morning of Saturday, March 26 — the primary day of SailGP!

If you wish to forged off and escort him out, his present plans are to cross underneath the Golden Gate Bridge at round 10 a.m. He’ll be setting sail for Japan, and you may set sail again into the Bay to look at Workforce Japan race in SailGP’s Season 2 Grand Remaining. We’ll search for you there!
