Amari Cooper Makes His Opinion On Cowboys Very Clear

On Wednesday, veteran pass catcher Amari Cooper took the podium for his introductory press conference as the newest WR1 for the Cleveland Browns.

When speaking to reporters, Cooper was asked how he felt leaving the Cowboys organization after more than three seasons in Dallas.

“It’s not like I disliked being in Dallas. I actually loved being there. I wouldn’t say I just wanted to leave. But you know, at the same time, it’s never personal. It’s just business,” he said, per Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News.

“That’s part of the business of being in this league,” he added. “Things like that happen all the time — players get cut, players get traded… With that said, I am excited about this new chapter.”

Earlier this offseason, the Cowboys traded Cooper to Cleveland in exchange for a 2022 fifth-round pick and a sixth-round pick swap.

Through his third full season with the Dallas organization, Cooper logged 865 yards and eight touchdowns. After the Cowboys’ disappointing first-round playoff loss this past season, team owner Jerry Jones expressed his frustration with Cooper as a reliable No. 1 wide receiver option.

Now suiting up for his third NFL team in 2022, the four-time Pro Bowler will look to return to form as a perennial 1,000-yard receiver.
